Gospel According to Matthew 10:1-7

Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them outand to cure every disease and every illness.

The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.

Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, "Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: 'The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.'"

✨ Reflection

Jesus does not choose the wisest or the strongest; He calls by name ordinary men, with wounds, doubts, and imperfect pasts. To them He entrusts a divine mission: to heal, to set free, and to proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

This Gospel reminds us that you and I have also been called not because of merit, but because of love. Jesus knows your name and gives you power, not for your glory, but to reach the “lost sheep” with compassion and truth.

Today, just like then, the Kingdom of God is not built through noise or greatness, but through humble obedience and active faith. The Lord sends you to walk, to proclaim, and to heal.

Are you willing to go? To leave comfort behind and seek the brother or sister who has strayed?

The Kingdom is near… and you are part of its proclamation.

🕊️ “Go and proclaim” is not just a command… it’s an invitation to live with purpose.
